Pueraria Mirifica is found at altitudes between 300 and 800 m in the forests of Chiengmai Province, in Thailand. Traditionally the extract of Pueraria Mirifica roots has been used in Thai folklore for its rejuvenating properties in seniors due to its high estrogenic potency.
Pueraria Mirifica or Kwao Keur has tubers of different colors (white, red and black). Different tuber colors differ in their degree of action. Black has the strongest action and rejuvenating potency.
Pueraria Mirifica contains phytoestrogens. They are plant substances with estrogen-like activity.
Due to its estrogenic activity, this herb is believed to be excellent and safe in the treatment for preventing, or therapeutic for the symptoms related to estrogen deficiency in menopausal women and menopausal men.
Once the tubers of this plant have been sun-dried, the powdered tubers are mixed with honey and small pills are made from the mixture.
The tiny pills are then offered for sale. The pills are believed to possess a remarkable amount of health properties, one being to induce a form of menstruation in elderly people.

Even though white tuber of pueraria mirifica have been used for a long time in Thai medicine, it is believed that the red and the black kwao have greater and different effects than those of white kwao. However, as red and black pueraria mirifica are just emerging to other parts of the world, more studies are needed to identify their exact beneficial effects and/or possible side effects.
Anyhow, if the claims are right, pueraria mirifica is indeed a super natural (especially for women) rejuvenator and menopause symptoms liberator.
